ABOUT ETANG MYSTERE
ABOUT THE OWNERS
Mark and Jo Gardner moved from the UK to France in 2005 two years after winning the World Carp Classic at Lac Amance in 2003.
They are the founders and proprietors of the innovative carp tackle company Carp-Tech that was first launched in the UK, because of their passion for carp fishing and their wish to develop innovative new carp fishing products due to gaps in the market at that time.
Mark first became interested in fishing when he was a pupil at Royal Wanstead boarding school and fished at Eagle Pond, which was within the grounds, in Snaresbrook at age 10.
Jo started fishing at around age 7 and remembers cycling for miles with her Dad in all weathers to fish the river at Writtle, lakes at Danbury Park and Sandon Pits in Essex.
ABOUT THE LAKE
The original stock of carp comes mainly from a previously unknown pond, discovered in an area of woodland, on land that we purchased along with our house.
The pond was then extended several times, following the necessary applications and regulations, to allow the stock to expand into a larger environment and to allow further quality fish to be introduced.
The management of what has now become a 2.75 acre lake, and its surroundings, has been undertaken by the owners, with help from a few associates, to create a natural environment for both the stock and visiting anglers.
For the last 6 years the water has been fished exclusively by the owners, a few close friends and family members, for the development and testing of new innovative Carp-Tech products, and having now obtained the legal permissions we are ready to open up the experience to members of the public. Our lake is now available on an exclusive basis for groups of 2 to 3 anglers at a time only.
